Metropolitan Cathedral

As part of the Liverpool Capital of Culture 2008, Patricia was granted funding and permission to produce a number of artworks for display in the Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral.

The artworks consisted of six large vinyl banners that were displayed in the entrance area of the cathedral. The commissioned artworks were displayed along side an exhibition of Patricia's Japanese digital printwork inside the cathedral.

The concept of the six banners was to show the art, life, buildings, people and the culture of Liverpool. Hundreds of resource photographs were taken around the city, capturing the events of the years celebrations and the essence of what makes Liverpool a great and vibrant city.

Using the research and resource imagery the work began to develop into six clearly defined attributes of the city. These became Unite, Building, Transport, Heritage, Diversity, and Celebrate.
